Sketch: the David Shrigley takeover // Mayfair

Stepping into Sketch feels more like the latest conceptual gallery as opposed to your typical Mayfair eatery.

The recent design takeover of the Gallery by artist David Shrigley breaths an air of modern quirkiness amid the mass of Mayfair contemporaries.

I lavishly indulged my boyfriend last weekend as a birthday treat. Not only did we munch on lobster bisque, snails, lamb… ( the list goes on! ) but also got our weekly art fix through the 245 Shrigley sketches adorning the walls.

Decor wise, I felt like I’d stepped into a Wes Anderson movie, what with the masses of pink colouring the room and 60’s inspiration, definitely reminiscent of a certain Grand Budapest Hotel.

I abided to the evenings pastel theme and took my new Burberry Crush out for a spin, alongside a Philip Lim skirt, Zara top and patent Russell and Bromley loafers

If you’re after an indulgent treat, Shrigley’s Sketch certainly won’t cut you short; my advice? Dress to suit the sixties feel and dabble with a Rosemary Martini!
