Last night, I was lucky enough to nab a ticket for the oh so beautiful and inspiring, “Deliciously’ Ella Woodward’s Supper Club, in West London.
Ella, has long been an inspiration of mine. Her nourishing, plant based food plans are a refreshing change from the millenial, high protein, low carb, fat, sugar…diets of the past few years. Which in my opinion ,are pretty short lived and unattainable.
Eating, a la Ella, feels like giving your body a great big hug, and she definitely sells the image. She literally glows!
Ella hosted the Supper Club at Paradise, in Kensal Rise, which is essentially a maze of a pub, decadently decked out with chandeliers and the odd stuffed animal. But, a very apt and intimate setting for a sit down dinner of 70.
Guests sat down to a free goody bag, will Elle-esque treats; a raw bite bar, Almond Mylk or green Juice, organic lip balm and a raw chocolate bar.
My friend Sophia, seemed pretty chuffed with her green juice, the champagne equivalent of eating clean, it seems.
Ella mingled happily with guests all evening, whist table plans of ten made for lots of ‘foodie’ chatting between guests, mainly comparing everyone’s up and coming food blogs ( guilty, as charged! )
Starters focused around sharing plates; Raw veg with a roated aubergine dip, rice paper spring rolls with a mango and avocado dip, and finally, a bean and tomato soup.
All were quite honestly delicious, and promoted quite threatening food grabbing between guests!
As a risotto fiend, I of course opted for the beetroot and buckwheat ‘risotto’ main, a gorgeously healthy twist on a classic. Sophia, munched away on brown rice and black bean chilli; hearty and wholesome!
Stuffed, but with greedy eyes, we ended the evening with Chocolate-Avocado mousses and banana flapjacks, best enjoyed together. Cause flapjack dunking is always a great idea!
A truly wonderful evening! Ella is even more beautiful and inspiring in the flesh, and a fabulous role model for a clean lifestyle.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next supper club, see you all there I hope!
