Spiced Hazelnut Brownies

Theres something about Chai spices that makes them perfect for wintery afternoons, Both exotic and comforting at the same time. Chai spiced lattes used to be a favourite treat of mine, but the mix of sugary spice and hormone laden milk always made me regret it post binge. The beauty of these brownies is that they are raw, meaning that you lose none of the amazing nutrients or taste in the oven!

Ingredients (for about 10 brownies )
 2 cups of medjool dates
1/2 cup raw chopped hazelnuts
2 chai teabags
2 tbsp maple syrup
4 tblsp coconut oil
pinch of sea salt
5 tblsp cacao
2 tblsp chia seeds

Method;

  1. Put all ingredients excpet for the hazelnuts into a food processor and blend until smooth
  2. The add in 3/4 of the chopped hazelnuts and mix through evenly
  3. Cover a tin with cling film and press the brownie mix into the tin until flat
  4. Leave to set for half an hour and then cut into brownie sized pieces, spinkling the rest of the hazelnuts and some cacao powder on top
